The client

Kenvue is the world's largest pure-play consumer health company by revenue, a powerhouse built on over 135 years of heritage. Spun off from Johnson & Johnson in 2023, Kenvue rapidly transitioned from a corporate division to a global leader, recently earning a prestigious spot on the Fortune 500 list. Their portfolio includes 10 brands that each generate roughly $400 million or more in annual sales, spanning iconic names across pain relief, skincare, oral care, and baby care. Today, Kenvue's products reach approximately 1.2 billion people daily across more than 165 countries.

Project summary

We partnered with Kenvue to support the conception of a new internal Claims Console. Through discovery research and collaborative workshops, we assessed the existing claims development process and identified key user needs and operational gaps. We translated these insights into a future-state concept, which was pitched in an immersive concept walkthrough designed to align stakeholders and build momentum toward further investment.

Process

Stakeholder Interviews

Conducted more than 20 interviews with stakeholders across functions to understand how claims are created, reviewed, and approved today, and where the process breaks down.

Brainstorming Workshops

Worked closely with our client to digest findings, brainstorm solutions, and define the best strategic approach to concept delivery.

Iterative Prototyping

Designed multiple concept iterations, calibrating each to better align with our client’s vision for the product, and the ideal fidelity of our deliverable.

Concept Walkthrough

Created a semi-functional concept walkthrough in Figma, which summarized our project and introduced the Claims Console, offering a comprehensive walkthrough of its potential functionality.

Recommendations

The Claims Console was designed to address four core needs across Kenvue's organization. It centralizes visibility into active and inactive claims, including ownership and approval status, while providing clear workflows that reduce ambiguity across legal, regulatory, and R&D teams. The platform also equips teams with tools to rapidly assess, adjust, and validate claims as the market evolves, and establishes a structured path for new claims development from initial idea through to approval, grounded in data and compliance requirements.

Impact

By facilitating deep-dive sessions with over 20 cross-functional stakeholders at Kenvue, we synthesized complex claims data into a unified product vision. This discovery phase culminated in the delivery of a 20-screen interactive prototype for the Claims Console, showcasing high-fidelity features and innovative workflows. The clarity this work created became the catalyst for executive buy-in, moving the initiative from concept to a fully funded development roadmap with shared confidence across teams. Ultimately, the engagement helped the initiative clear portfolio review, secure an executive sponsor, and land Phase 1 funding.
